On this day trip to Tortuga Island, we’ll travel by boat across the Gulf of Nicoya, observe wildlife, and go snorkeling in a protected marine ecosystem. Lunch included!
Haven’t visited Tortuga Island yet? It’s one of the most beautiful islands in Costa Rica. To discover it, we’ll meet in front of Isla Coco's Bar & Grill in Puntarenas. There, after a brief introduction, we’ll board a boat and begin a 30-minute journey across the Gulf of Nicoya.
If we’re lucky, we may spot whales and dolphins during the journey, as they’re common in these waters. We’ll continue until we reach the area around Negritos Island, a biological reserve dominated by tropical dry forest. Without disembarking, we’ll observe spider monkeys moving through the trees.
We’ll then head to an area of calm waters, where we’ll stop for a 30-minute snorkeling session. We’ll explore rocky and sandy seabeds, home to tropical fish and small invertebrates.
After this stop, we’ll sail a few more minutes to our final destination: Tortuga Island. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy fresh fruit and give you a total of 4 hours of free time. You can relax on the beach, sunbathe, and swim.
When it’s time to eat, we’ll serve a typical lunch with rice, vegetables, salad, and a choice of meat or fish. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a coffee before heading back.
Finally, we’ll return to the starting point after a total of 8 hours.
