Ready for an adrenaline rush? For this activity, we'll be canyoning through Rincon de la Vieja, a bewitching natural space in northern Costa Rica that'll take your breath away.
We'll meet at the scheduled time in The Hotel Hacienda Guachipelín, one of the most popular accommodations on offer at The Rincon de la Vieja National Park. This protected natural area in northern Costa Rica can be found between the provinces of Guanacaste and Alajuela and stands out for its lush landscapes that are simply enchanting.
After strapping us into all the necessary safety gear, including lifejackets, helmets and harnesses, our instructor will lay out a few simple safety rules. Once we're all ready, we'll journey by foot to a special spot in Rincón de la Vieja where our action-packed canyoning adventure is set to take place. Let the games begin!
We'll make our first stop at a waterfall found within The Rincón de la Vieja National Park. We'll make use of this gorgeous cascade and its impressive natural surroundings to practice canyoning and abseiling from a range of different heights!
After that, we'll make our way to another waterfall where we'll continue canyoning and where, of course, you'll also be able to abseil. The more daring of the lot will get a chance to swing on a vine known as Tarzan's pendulum. As a final touch, anyone looking for a refreshing swim can take a dip in one of the waterfall's natural pools.
Finally, we'll walk back, arriving at the original meeting point about two and a half hours after the start of our rip-roaring adventure.
